Självklart hör vi gnäll från konkurrenter som tex. Dave Cole från Symantec "Morro is essentially a stripped-down version of Microsoft's failed OneCare product. It didn't offer adequate protection when it was payware, and it offers even less as freeware," eller Tom Powledge från samma bolag som säger; "We urge consumers to bear in mind that Microsoft OneCare offered substandard protection and an inferior user experience, as evidenced by third-party reviews. Consumers are encouraged to thoughtfully consider how they'll protect themselves, their identities and their families online." (är det bara jag eller verkar Symantec verkligen vara på "anti-Microsoft-humör" just nu!? :)
Men som Graham Cluley från Brittiska Sophos säger i samma artikel i Guardian: "I would expect McAfee and Symantec to have more than a few sleepless nights. Yes, there are other free antivirus products already out there, but Microsoft has a much stronger brand presence, so it may have more impact than an eastern European company my Auntie Hilda has never heard of". Med andra ord... ett starkt varumärke som knaprar in på den hittills ganska otrampade säkerhetsmarknaden...
Som någon skrev i en kommentar på en av alla sajter som tar upp ämnet... "vem borde veta bäst hur man skyddar ett OS om inte tillverkarna av operativsystemet"... Go Microsoft, GO!
